This avoids stitching, with the advantage of substantially increasing the seal of the down inside the chambers. The fabric undergoes a ciré finish for a shiny appearance. The finished garment is padded by direct injection with the best feathers, specifically treated to resist garment dyeing. The addition of a special PFC-free agent to the dye recipe makes the garment drip-proof.
